Helen Barton Consultancy, trading as Highland Community Resources, will protect and respect your privacy. Our Privacy Statement sets out the basis on which any personal data that we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed. It ensures we comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations), and the PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Data). The statement explains how areas of this website (www.highlandcommunityresources.co.uk) may affect your privacy and personal details, how we process, manage store and collect those details, and how your rights are protected under relevant regulations and legislation. Additionally, it explains our use of cookies, software, or any commercial links from third parties, and the download of any files or software made available to you through this website.

Contact and Communication

If you contact us through this website or by any other means you do so at your own discretion, and provide such personal details as requested at your own risk. We will never add your details to a mailing list without your express permission.

What information do we collect from you?

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our site. (This includes information provided when you request services or information through the ‘contact us’ section of the site, or purchasing of services)

We may collect and process information on behalf of third parties (data controllers) who are clients of ours and have commissioned us to carry out research or business administration on their behalf. Personal data will only passed to us by a third party in strict accordance with their own Privacy Policy.  We will ensure that it is held  and prcessed securely and in accordance with our won privacy policy, and kept only for the time necessary to complete the work. we ask you to complete a research survey, you will always be able to choose whether you want to complete it, and what personal information to disclose or withhold. Information may include but not be limited to demographic data, housing, health, wellbeing, social and employment data depending on the nature of the research.

We do not collect, process or store and personal or business financial details or payment transaction information through our website.

What do we do with your information?

We will use the contact information we hold about you to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you or your organisation and us. We may also use the information to provide you with information, products or services that your request from us or which we feel may be of interest to you. We may contact you about these by post or telephone. We will contact you by electronic means only where you have consented to this.

Data collected through the completion of research surveys will be processed in such a way that the data extracted cannot be attributed to an individual data subject without the use of additional information, which will be kept separately and securely.

We use the cookies and information collected from the website and Google analytics to monitor visits to our website and better understand how it is used. This helps us to ensure our site content is presented in the most effective manner for you and your computer devices. Our website uses cookies to improve the experience of people using our website. While all precautions have been undertaken to ensure only genuine downloads are available users are advised to verify their authenticity using third party antivirus software or similar applications. Our site may, from time to time, include links to and from the websites of other companies or advertisers. If you follow a link to another website, we will not be responsible for the liability of their privacy policies, and you should check these policies before you submit any personal data to them.

 

Our services may provide you and other users with the opportunity to interact and post content through social media sites, including but not limited to Facebook and Twitter, for example. Your interaction with these sites and any information provided through them are not personal information.

Who might we share your information with?

Research data will be processed on behalf of clients and reported back to them in such a way that individual respondents cannot be identified from the personal data collated unless they have provided express permission, for example to be quoted in a report or used as an illustrative case study. You will retain the right for your personal data to be deleted if you no longer wish to participate in the research. The ability to delete your data may be limited once a report has been collated if it may compromise the validity of the overall data used.

We will not share your information for marketing purposes with any other companies or individuals unless you ask us to refer you to a service that you need and you have given us express permission to do so, or unless we are required to do so by the government and law enforcement officials to enforce and comply with the law.

How do we look after your information?

The data that we collect from you will be stored securely at our premises or on servers located within the European Economic Area (EEA).  

Our website is currently hosted by Wix.com, a US-based hosting company. Wix.com is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-US privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce, regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States, and therefore adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until it is no longer required or has no use. Information collected on behalf of a client or to carry out contracted work will generally be stored for no more than five years after completion of the contract.

How can I access the information you hold about me?

You have a right under the DPA to access information held about you. You can find out if we hold any personal information about yuu by making a ‘subject access request’ under the terms of the Act. If we do hold information about you we will:

  • Give you a description of it

  • Tell you why we are holding it

  • Tell you who it could be disclosed to

  • Let you have a copy

Access requests should be made in writing to Highland Community Resources and may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our administrative costs.

If you think any of the information we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, or if you wish your information to be removed from our records, please contact us and we will correct or remove information promptly.
